Introducing the Inspiring...

Maria Brady
Kinesiologist

Maria Brady is a Registered Kinesiology Practitioner with the Australian Traditional Medicine Society and the Australian Institute of Kinesiologists.

She was the practice manager of Kinesiology Schools Australia, in Brisbane, before leaving to run her own successful south side business in 2007, where she specializes in women, wanting to release emotional and physical stresses in their home and/or work life!

Maria is one of those people whose joy and happiness shines out (as you can see in the picture) and she draws people in with her light and laughter.

Here's what Maria had to say in response to our questions:

In 70 words or less tell us about your latest project and what inspired you to do it?

I am organizing a new workshop, an in depth look at Limiting Beliefs and Thoughts that may be hidden from us. This is why some people feel they don’t achieve their Goals, no matter what action they take. Something comes up to sabotage their progress. Once the limiting belief is found, I will use Kinesiology, to help release these blockages, and then they can start to achieve their Goals.

If you could walk a day in someone else's shoes, literally, who would that someone be and why?

Wayne Dyer – He is a great communicator to the masses, who talks about changing the way we think, which can change the way we live our lives. I am a strong believer in the power of thoughts, beliefs and words, and how these thoughts, beliefs and words affect us (physically, mentally and emotionally) and the people around us, in either a positive or a negative way.

Name 3 people and a product, book or program of each that has had a huge impact on your personal and/or spiritual development.

Gary Zukav – Author of ‘Seat of the Soul’ – when I was 14 years old I was asked to read aloud to the class (my worst nightmare); instead of the words flowing from my mouth, like everyone else, I struggled with the words and kids laughed at me. I finally believed that I was dumb when the teacher told me to sit down, I was being stupid. I stopped reading after that.

At 34 years of age I bought my first book, called “Seat of the Soul”. It took me months to read the 1st couple of chapters, but by the end of the book, I was living my life with passion and authenticity. This book helped me through some of the toughest times in my life and will be forever grateful, for this truly was the time when my eyes were opened to so much more. This was the time that I started listening to my intuition!

Kinesiology Cert IV course - In 2005 I met Danny Liddell, from Kinesiology Schools Australia and enrolled into this, what I thought of at the time, ‘strange’ course to begin in 2006. The last thing I thought I would ever do again is to go back to school! The great thing was that I found out that it was OK to be different and learning challenges were helped by Kinesiology techniques. Well, I decided that I would be 100% totally honest with myself and others in the class so I could benefit and overcome as much as I possibly could. I have gone from a very shy person with a lack of self esteem, to a confident woman, who embraces every part of me and my abilities. I can do things now that I could never have imagined doing, like reading to myself (even though it is still slow – that’s ok); reading out aloud and facilitating award winning workshops on the topic I am so passionate about, which is thoughts, beliefs and words.

Wayne Dyer – Yes, he has some amazing books and courses out there. I have only just started to read his book “Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life. It is still a slow process to read, however I now enjoy doing it, especially when it comes to Personal Development and Growth. The next thing for me to do is to have my written words flow with ease!

What one personal characteristic would you like to have developed by the end of this lifetime?

I think I would like to continue to develop ‘kindness’ into my life. Something that I heard Wayne Dyer say was “Kindness is not something that you do; it is something that you are”. It will be my goal to be ‘kindness’. Just by doing small gestures of kindness, I know can make a big difference in other people’s lives and therefore my life too.

What one thing do you do everyday (or as often as possible) that brings you joy and happiness?

Besides eating Chocolate???

There are a few things I do each and every day! However I think the top on my list would be, to ‘choose’ each and every moment, to choose to enjoy my day with fun and lots of laughter!
